Rally Sunday will be on September 11th this year and along with the
blessing of the bikes and backpacks by Canon Linda. It will also be
the first day of Sunday School!
All kids in the congregation from ages 4 to 10 are welcome back in the
parish hall during the 10:00 service each week whether they are regular
attenders to St. James' or just visiting. Parents of kids under the
age of four are encouraged to bring them to the nursery to have fun
with activities more suited to their age group.
As we've done for the past few years we will once again be working from
the One Room Sunday School curriculum, providing the kids with stories,
crafts, activities, music and lessons from both the Old and New Testaments.
If anyone has any questions regarding the material, please feel free
to speak to either of us.
It is important that each child be registered in the program and we
ask that their guardians take a minute to fill out the necessary registration
form. This will enable us to recognize birthdays, identify any health
concerns, honour requests for the kids' own offering envelopes and if
an email address is included, provide weekly updates on the goings on
in the Sunday School. The forms are available in the narthex and can
be returned to either of us or deposited in the collection plate. If
you've completed a registration form in the past, please do so again
as at the end of each year the contact information, including the email
addresses is destroyed.
Another tradition that continues again this year is that any mom, dad,
grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, or friend is welcome to come back to
the hall during Sunday School and have some fun with us too! We have
loads of crayons!
