Merry Christmas!

Posted by Canon Linda on December 24, 2013 at 3:05 PM

It is my prayer for all to have a still moment in this busy season.  I hope you have time to be quiet and listen for the rustle of angels wings, the hint of a new born baby's cry.  In the midst of the chaos that becomes Christmas may you see the Christ child.  He shows up in the most amazing places.

In the faces of neighbours family and friends.  On the news in the midst of disaster as people help people over come.  In the stillness of the air on a moonlit night.

There is a Nigerian proverb that goes something like this.... Be still. Listen. If you listen hard enough you will hear the foot falls of ants.

Maybe we wont hear ants but I hope that we will hear the calm still voice of God reminding us "Emmanuel"  God is with us.  Through the blessed birth of Jesus we know.... Emmanuel.

May the peace of God that passes all understanding be with you and yours this Christmas time and always.
