Will Spring Ever Come?

Posted by Canon Linda on March 12, 2014 at 2:10 PM

This is March 12th our snowy days have returned after a brief taste of plus temperatures and sunshine.   It does make for a long winter and the feeling that spring will never come.  But it will.  We who have been round long enough know that "this too shall pass".   It isn't easy for some of us to be patient or accepting of the fate Mother Nature is delivering however there is new life just waiting for the right moment to spring out.

Much of life is like that....as long as we are on this earth there is always a chance for new life.

As we prepare during Lent for the coming of Easter... it is good to remind ourselves, that regardless of what lies behind  new life awaits.

The death and resurrection of Jesus tells us that there is always hope.... hope even in death.  New beginings await us in this life and in the life to come.  It is difficult sometimes to see that things will get better, especially when they appear to be getting worse.  It often takes time and patience.

My prayer today is especially for those in the midst of difficult or trying times.  May God surround you in the peace of knowing that things will get better.  New life will come again.
